Today, as OIL delegation members checked into the Comfort Inn & Suites In Oklahoma City, they discovered bed bugs. Bed bugs are hated little creatures, and for good reason. Bed bugs are insects that feed on human and animal blood as they sleep. They can cause a small rash or bite mark and go up to a severe allergic reaction. People should be wary of these insects.
Here are some ways to prevent and get rid of bed bugs:
- Since bedbugs love to hitch a ride and travel from one place to the other, make sure to put your bags on a rack or table rather than on the floor or bed to prevent bringing the bugs home with you.
- Bed Bugs love to hide! Reduce clutter in your living space giving them less space to hide.
- Heat kills! Washing your bedding and blankets in hot water, and dry heat will help to prevent these nasty things.
- A traditional way is mattress encasement! It’s an easy and small step to take to help prevent a difficult situation.
- Know if you are at the point where you do have a bed bug problem, take action immediately! Thoroughly clean, everything linen to minimize spread!
- Two great oil-based products are EcoRaider and Bed Bug Patrol which are less toxic than regular chemicals and work great!
- If push comes to shove, look at professional options! Hiring experts is a great way to ensure they leave your space.
- Getting rid of bedbugs can be long and tedious, so don’t give up! Monitoring the control process is very necessary. Check the affected areas every week, as bedbugs are persistent, this will help ensure you’re getting rid of them.
Bedbugs can make everyday life a nightmare, it’s just not fun to deal with bugs while you’re sleeping. Use tips to make sure that bed bugs don’t run your life!
