On a Cow Joke?
By Journalist Jordan Howard (OU)
Today, delegates from universities across the state poured into the capital so that they could have a chance to attend the annual Fall session of the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature.
As usual, delegates from the House and Senate come together for a joint-opening session which, fortunately, was held in the capitol this year.
Mumbles of excitement from upper star counts and whispers of nerves from zeros stars filled the Senate Assembly room as students waited for Joint Session to begin.
However, that didn’t last long thanks to our very own “cow-girl” Lt. Governor Grace Minter.
With Lt. Gov. Minter in charge, we can forget the worn-out and overused dad jokes that traditionally are used to pass the time during Session. Instead, delegates now get the privilege of hearing and sharing their “cow” themed jokes.
This year’s jokes were among the best I have witnessed at O.I.L. with one from tonight’s lot becoming the Lt. Governor’s new favorite!
The joke in question was shared by House Representative Walker from Southeastern and went as follows:
“How does a cow motion to seal chambers?”
“It MOOOOVES”
With this only being the first day of Session, I look forward to hearing and sharing many more cow jokes over the next few days!
