For many delegates, there is nothing like the in-person OIL experience. However, let’s all be honest and realize a virtual session brings perks. Being on a virtual platform is an adjustment for everyone. However, who needs in-person contact when you are not required to wear pants? Here are three ideas on how to fully embrace the adventure of virtual sessions.
Understanding experimental fashion.
Pants are irrelevant. Get used to it. The name of the game this OIL fashion season is comfortability. You can pair your traditional button down and blazer with pajama bottoms, gym shorts, just underwear or yesterday’s leggings. The possibilities are now truly endless. However, on the chance you are wearing just underwear and stand up, no matter the amount of shock coming from the illustrious body, understand we all respect you and secretly wish we only wore underwear as well.
Time to eat.
There is a certain amount of decorum needed on the virtual floor, but if it is not distracting you can eat or drink all you want. For some of us, we need food to stay focused and have a coffee addiction needing to be enabled. This virtual platform provides the perfect opportunity to put food around our computers for easy access and allows us to drink multiple cups of coffee while we vote on legislation.
Not leaving the house.
Many delegates love the thrill of sleep deprivation and the adventure of having more caffeine than blood in their body while building arguments on bills they have only recently looked at. Most of us will still be somewhat sleep deprived and stressed, but we do not have to leave the house. Therefore, if you are going to be exhausted, you might as well lounge on the most comfortable piece of furniture you can find.
