Tallie Tynes has been incredibly involved in the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature throughout her college career. In her time at Oklahoma State University, she served OSU’s delegation as a Legislative Consultant. She also served in the 2024-2025 Governor’s Cabinet as the Director of Delegation Resources. She began her journey as a delegate in the House of Representatives where she served for 2 semesters. In her time in the House, she served as a Freshman Liaison. In her 3rd session, she found her true home in the Senate where she learned of her love for detail-oriented tasks. She served as the Head Freshman Liaison, Assistant Floor Leader, Legislative Committee Chair, and Linguistics Formatting and Dilatory Matters Committee Chair in her time in the Senate. This experience motivated her to eventually apply to be the Secretary of State, in the hopes of giving back to this organization that has given her so much. Tallie is a master’s student at Oklahoma State University in the Politics and Public Policy program.
The Secretary of State maintains all organizational documents, maintain control of the use of the official seal of the organization, make grammatical corrections to submitted and passed legislation, publish a digest of all legislation that had passed and become law after each regular and special session, distribute authenticated copies of the Constitution and Statutes of the organization, keep a register of the official acts of the Governor, distribute all proposed legislation for each session of the Legislature, provide such administrative assistance to the Legislature as the Governor and President Pro Tempore and Speaker of the House shall direct, keep a record of the proceedings of the Board of Directors and Steering Committee, and handles the registration of all delegates and members and the submission of legislation for each regular and special session of the organization.
The Secretary of State also serves as a voting member and the secretary of the Steering Committee and as the secretary of the Board of Directors, though they are not considered a voting member of the Board of Directors.
