As the opening day of the 1st session of the 56th Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature kicks off, the dress-up days are already showing up and showing out.
The first day of dress day, own the room, asks the delegates to dress in something that they feel confident in. In the opening joint session, some colors that rise to the top of the popularity contest are pink, red and House Delegates stand for incoming Senate Delegates blues.
House Delegates stand for incoming Senate Delegates.
The second day is hot-person summer. Summer 2024 was filled with new and upcoming artists, and this dress-up day was chosen to give the delegates a chance to shine in their favorite artists’ shoes.
Day 3 is code names. This dress-up day can be used to show the secret agents of the delegation, or to show alter egos.
On the fourth day of session, delegates can choose a historic figure that they look up to as inspiration. Delegates can be as discrete as they would like, or they can go all out! For the fifth day of session, the dress-up day is to support your school and wear your school colors. This is a day to show your school pride and celebrate your school’s achievements throughout the session.
Over the five days of session, delegates are required to wear business professional clothing, and the dress-up days offer a fun way for delegates to pick out outfits for the week! During the week, confidence is key, and this is a fun way for delegates to be involved.
