Governing Documents

These documents are the governing rules and laws for the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature. Similarly to the actual State of Oklahoma, the Constitution is the “supreme law” of our organization. The Statutes are the next step down from the Constitution.

As instructed by the Constitution, each chamber of the Legislature, the Courts of the organization, the Press Corp., and the Community Service Competition shall have their own rules, policies, and procedures governing them, provided that they are subservant to the Constitution and Statutes.

The Attorney General is permitted to issue legally binding (or non-binding) opinions upon legal questions, and the Governor is permitted to issue executive orders.
